Mexico wins Men’s Beach in Jamaica |

KINGSTON, Jamaica, June 28, 2009.- Mexico made a
perfect comeback to the Norceca Continental
Circuit by winning the men’s fourth leg of 2009
with a victory over Jamaica in the final played
at Barbicon Park.
The Mexican duo of Juan Virgen/Aldo Miramontes
did not have problems to dominate the final
match by score of 21-18, 21-13 over Jamaicans
Mark Lewis/Danny Wilson).

States claimed its first title of the 2009
NORCECA Women’s Continental Circuit byb
defeating Puerto Rico in the final match in
Jamaica which concluded today at Barbicon
Park of this city.
Americans (Emily Day/Claire Robertson)
relied on their strong blocking and
strategic attacks to the opposite field.
They dominated by score of 21-14, 21-18.

Jamaica provides surprise with semi final ticket |

KINGSTON, Jamaica, June 27, 2009.- Taking
advantage of their condition as host team,
the pair of Jamaica provided the biggest
surprise of the men’s bracket by advancing
to the semifinal round of the fourth leg of
the Third Norceca Beach Volleyball Circuit
at Barbicon Park of Kingston.
The tandem of Mark Lewis / Danny Wilson
(fifth seeded) downed the top seeded Roberto
Rodríguez/Orlando Irizarry of Puerto Rico
booking a ticket to the Sunday’s semi finals
to be placed at noon local time. The score
was 21-16, 18-21, 15-13 and the match lasted
45 minutes. The home pair reached the
quarter finals by defeating third seeded.

USA women’s pair remains unbeaten |

KINGSTON, Jamaica, June 27, 2009.- The
United States maintained is condition as
women’s top seeded and Puerto Rico offered a
major surprise as both teams advanced to the
semi final round of the fourth leg of the
Norceca Beach Volleyball Circuit.
The Americans Emily Day and Claire Robertson
did not have difficulties against Canadians
Kristina Long/Renee Laroque winning by score
of 21-17, 21-17 and then won over Ana
Fabian/Ingrid Carmona of Dominican Republic
21-15, 21-12. The Puerto Rican pair of
Yarleen Santiago/Dariam Acevedo gave the
biggest surprise of the day.

KINGSTON, Jamaica, June 26, 2009.- The first
day of action in the fourth leg of the 2009
NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit at Barbicon
Park of the Jamaican capital happened
without major surprises. Eight of the nine
participating teams advanced to the second
round of the tournament.
The men’s tem of Puerto Rico and the women’s
team of United States lead their respective
genders with two victories in the pool
phase. The Puerto Ricans Roberto Rodriguez
and Orlando Irizarry defeated.
